The Tsawwassen Farm School is a collaboration between Tsawwassen First Nation and the Institute for Sustainable Food Systems (ISFS) at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. This unique program integrates the learnings of sustainable agriculture and traditional indigenous food system to build a community, and to create dialogue around land stewardship and the future.
This farm school is situated on a beautiful 20 acre farm in Delta, British Columbia. We take classes on the farm that consists of a traditional medicinal garden, a mixed fruit orchard, an organic market garden, farm animals and an incubator plot for new farmers.
This blog is for our student farmers to dedicate their learnings and experience throughout this journey. We will be updating the blog continuously throughout the season, filling the pages with stories, photos and videos of what is happening at the farm. Enjoy this journey with us as we learn and reconnect with the basics of growing food for ourselves.
